Ninja classes are for children aged 3 to 5 years old (younger children may be happy in our classes too – best way to know is to do a free two week trial).
Our Ninja classes focus on helping young children develop their gross motor skills. Skills that require whole body movement and which involve the large core stabilising muscles of the body to function.
Our Ninja students love their bright yellow and black uniform. Highest Ninja Karate belt is Purple (where their name is embroidered in gold onto the belt).
Ninja students learn and improve:
- Self Awareness
- Listening Skills
- Gross Motor and Core Skills
- Japanese (don’t be surprised when your little Ninja comes home speaking some Japanese words)
- Basic Karate Skills (basic blocks, punches, kicks and stances)
Karate Kids Classes
Our Karate Kids classes are for children aged 6 to 12 years old.
Our Karate Kids classes learn Kyokushin Katate (a martial arts style) and many fun karate games to aid the learning and enjoyment.
Our classes are a balanced mix between traditional skills, self defence as well as our disciplined yet holistic approach to promoting personal growth. Learning those valuable life lessons is at the heart of everything we do.
Karate students who are 10,11, 12 can be found in both the Karate Kids classes and the Teenagers & Adults classes. Our policy here is to help the student to move into the older class when they are ready and when they feel safe to do so.
Usually new students in this age bracket will start in the Karate Kids classes, then move up when they are ready (there is absolutely no rush). We are here to help assist and support our students and parents with this often tricky period of time.
Teenagers and Adults
We teach Kyokushin Karate (a full contact martial arts style, known around the world as the strongest karate style mentally and physically).
Our Teenager and Adult combined classes are designed to benefit both age groups. Teenagers learn from the maturity of our adult students and instructors. Adults are often motivated to train a little harder when they see a 13 year old doing more sit ups for example.
We are a family dojo. Not only are most of our adult students, parents themselves but often parents of our younger Wollondilly Karate students.
All our classes are held at our Tahmoor dojo (CWA Hall at 98 York Street Tahmoor), which is central for all of Wollondilly. We have karate students come not only from Tahmoor but Picton, Thirlmere, Warragamba, Silverdale, Razorback, Bargo, Pheasants Nest, Yanderra, Buxton, Appin, Menangle, Wilton, The Oaks, Oakdale, Douglas Park, Cawdor and even as far as Camden in the North and Southern Highlands in the South.
